One of my first lesson plans during my eight-day practicum was to have the students learn about poetry through play. In this lesson, students were split into groups based on the information my teacher mentor gave me. In those groups, students were to read an autumn-themed poem that varied in difficulty and present their poems as a shadow puppet play.
Another of my lessons was centred around student creativity. In this lesson, I read a story to the students, and then I had them create their own trading cards about a character of their choice from the book.
